The Indian Ensemble Actor’s Training Workshop

Indian Ensemble announces its Week long Actor’s training workshop. The Workshop is open to actors both with and without experience.

The focus of the workshop is to provide tools to actors to be able to work on texts and improvisations in an informed manner. Also, the workshop will work towards setting up individual exercises for actors that they could continue to work on after the workshop.

Sessions will be held on

a) Performing Texts

b) Improvisations

c) Movement and Body work

Dates: October 10th to October 16th 2011.

Timings: Weekdays: 6:30 p.m – 10:00 p.m

Weekends: 10:00a.m – 4: 00 p.m

Abhishek Majumdar

Abhishek Majumdar is a playwright, theatre director, teacher and actor based out of Bangalore. He holds Performing Arts Scholarships from Charles Wallace India Trust, the Inlaks Foundation and the London International School of Performing Arts. His plays have won the Hindu MetroPlus Playwright’s award and the Toto Funds the Arts award and have been produced in India and England. He is also a part of the International Playwright’s residency at the Royal Court London, 2011. Currently he is the artistic director of the Indian Ensemble Bangalore and also works with the HeadStart Children’s repertory. He has been visiting faculty at IIM Bangalore, Hal Management Institute, Kathalaya, Infosys Leadership Seminar, MindScreen Film Institute, Film and Television Institute of India, Pune Bangalore School of Business Studies and Ranga Shankara.

Sandeep Shikhar

Theatre artist-actor, writer and director. Started theatre with Dastak Sanskritik Manch, Dhanbad, and Jharkhand. As an actor he performed in Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, UP, Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, etc. Worked with Rajinder Nath in Abhiyaan, New Delhi. Trained as an actor from Sri Ram Centre for Performing Arts, New Delhi. Directed: Surender Verma’s play Marnoparant and Naariyal Paani. Currently acting in Harlesden High Street and Treadmill. Core Faculty of Indian Ensemble Training Program.
